2025 has been a difficult year for art purchasing due to US tariffs being imposed on all shipment to the united states, in the past we have paid low tariffs on artwork we purchased previously. The unknown amount of potential tariff assessment is a major risk because we will not have any idea what tariffs to expect before the item is shipped. Because of this difficult climate for international art shipping we have been wracked by indecision on what we can purchase this year. We decide to travel for our art purchases and buy items that we can carry home in our checked luggage. This has necessitated us to chose smaller more study work. So, we went on an Art buying trip to Europe in September. After attending an art show in Paris, and visiting galleries in brussels, Netherlands, London & Paris we had all but given up on finding anything that suited our collection and taste. We found this work after seeing this artist artwork in the Cleopatra show at the Islamic Institute in Paris. the show overall was really amazing. I had no expectation that this work would've been available but decided to take my chance and do some research. I attempted to contact the artist on Instagram and also through some research I found her gallery representation. I visited 193 Gallery half expecting that her artwork would be either sold out or out of my price range. Fortunately the gallery owner showed me that she had work availability and was incredibly nice in discussing her inspiration and artistic process. After receiving the listing of her available work, I picked this great little sculpture out and it just so happened. It was available for me to take home no concern about shipping at all, which is a huge relief. 193 gallery was extremely gracious and very helpful throughout the process. The caliber of courtesy and assistance they offered is outstanding. We are currently contemplating the purchase of a second piece of the artist work.
